key art & teasing campaign  •  2014

'tut' is an epic mini-series produced by spike tv, telling the story of king Tut's rise to power and his struggle to lead Egypt to glory.
The series focuses on his transition from boyhood, to manhood, to pharaoh, making his own fate despite the scheming of his entourage.

i created a teasing campaign to be launched a few months before the release of the first episode.
the key was to produce graphics that would be intriguing and evocative of the story without revealing too much.

I explored different symbols of the pharaoh: the vulture, the snake and the the eye of Horus. I also designed a hieroglyph alphabet that could write coded messages. Finally, I focused on Tut's universally famous mask, his face emerging out of the shadow or replaced by the serpent.
